Batch 007 of Glengoyne's Cask Strength series is a sweet, malty single malt, and is the first in the collection to be matured in ex-bourbon barrels as well as ex-sherry casks. The palate offers notes of cinnamon, orange, peach and honey.
Nose: Caramel and chocolate, with a hearty kick of spicy oak and cinnamon.
Palate: Plenty of dried fruit and walnut notes as it opens, followed by coffee bean, cedar and hints of floral barley.
Finish: It goes on and on, with notes of honey and clove lingering.
