From Glendullan distillery, here we have a new entry into Gordon & MacPhail’s wood finished ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ series. Distilled in 2009, this whisky spent 9 years maturing in refill bourbon barrels before a finishing period of 3 years in ex-Côte‐Rôtie red wine casks. The nose is full of dried strawberries and roasted peanuts. Notes of fresh violets develop with fragrant honey and a faint herbal edge. Velvety raspberry compote coats the palate, with subtle liquorice, red apple slices and sweet demerara sugar that’s balanced by soft white pepper. The finish is sweet with bursts of citrus and lingering red berries.
The Glendullan Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery was founded in 1897 and is situated on the River Fiddich banks in the Speyside region. William Willams & Sons founded Glendullan and is known for producing whisky with lavish nutty and fruit flavours.
