A 10-year-old release of Arran's famous Machrie Moor range of peated single malts, made at its Lochranza distillery and matured exclusively in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. Aromas of earthy peat, vanilla, nutmeg and white pepper fill the nose, complemented by notes of heathery peat smoke, honey, peppery spice, ginger and sweet oak throughout the palate.

Nose: Baked apples and pears, with singed barley and a touch of peppery oak.

Palate: Nutty barley, BBQ charred pineapple, Demerara sugar, cinnamon, drying smoke.

Finish: Heather honey, flamed orange peel.
