Located in the Southernmost region of Scotland, Lowlands whisky has more up and coming distilleries than open making this region promising for the future of whiskies. More often than not it is popular to triple distill single malts giving it a lighter flavour. Lowlands have less than ten distilleries with a couple in development. Lowlands whisky are known for their honeysuckle, toast, toffee and cinnamon flavours.
