Hampden Estate Great House Distillery Edition 2023 Rum 700ml

Derived from the blending of several marks and different vintages since its first release in 2019, the Great House version from Hampden Distillery unveils this iconic Jamaican rum in a different light with each edition, just like this 2023 release. Its aromatic and gustatory palette, particularly mineral, captures with the same intensity the smoky character of the 2022 edition, which, however, was more medicinal.

Nose : Fine and heady. At first scent, distinguished aromas of sugarcane flower, sugarcane, and vanilla diffuse. Oxidative, the aromatic palette then reveals scents of hydrocarbons, Bourbon vanilla, and exotic fruits (pineapple, banana).

Palate : Rich, powerful. Vivid notes of camphor and vetiver precede flavors of cloves gradually enveloping the taste buds. Velvety, the mid-palate is delightfully vanilla, lemony, honeyed (acacia), and licorice (stick).

Finish : Long, refined. Warm sugarcane flows over the palate. The aftertaste is indulgent, with a milky (coconut, almond) and subtly aniseed mouthfeel. Notes of ginger, mirabelle, and aromatic plants (wild thyme, sage) extend the tasting experience.
