Springbank 12 years old Cask Strength 56.1% 700ml

This latest offering from Springbank's 12 year old cask strength series sees an unusual combination of casks used: 45% ex-Sherry, 25% ex-Bourbon, 25% ex-Burgundy, 5% ex-Port. The usually soft and mild peat-smoke is a bit more ashy and apparent to start this time around, giving way to candied sweetness, cherries and bruised apples. A rich and sweet start on the palate, with more ripe fruit moving to orange-chocolate, toasted marshmallows and and earthy, dusty quality on the palate.
