Fowles Are You Game? Shiraz 2018

This Shiraz is a complex blend due to the different ripening conditions of the different parcels of grapes picked. Two thirds of the fruit parcels were wild fermented to create further complexity and depth. For 12 months this wine was matured with oak, mostly French. A dash of Mourvèdre was added to provide a dark fruit perfume lift and add complexity to the palate.

Colour
Vibrant red with purple hues.

Aroma
Ripe plum, lifted florals, pepper spice and subtle vanilla notes.

Palate
Medium bodied, balanced with juicy ripe fruits, cool climate spice, silky tannins and finessed French oak.

Fowles Are You Game? Pinot Noir 2019

This wine is made from fruit from our two family vineyards, Upton Run and Billis in the Strathbogie Ranges. Fermented with wild yeasts, matured for 5 months in new (20%) and old (80%) French oak, and finished off with a dash of Sangiovese (15%) added to the final blend. The Sangiovese provides complex dusty tannins in the wine, helps brighten the red hues of colour and adds a savoury quality on the palate.

Colour
Bright cherry red.

Aroma
Wild strawberry, cherry and savoury notes of bracken and earth..

Palate
Medium bodied, cool climate Pinot Noir with red fruits, raspberry and hints of earthy spice.

About Fowles Wines 🍷
We proudly sit in the Heart of Victoria and offer a range of activities and food and wine adventures.
The Strathbogie Ranges are located 100 kilometres north of Melbourne. The ruggedly beautiful massif sits almost 600 metres above sea level and is characterised by ancient granite boulders dating back over 360 million years. A huge granite peninsula, pushed up from the ocean, the Strathbogie Ranges has emerged as a truly distinct, high-altitude and cool climate region, helping us to produce intense wines that are elegant and full of character.
